Treatment Process Overview:

Preliminary Treatment:
Solids such as bottles, cups, plastics, rags, and cans are removed from the incoming sewage using bar screens to maximize solid removal. Grit chambers are also employed to extract heavy grit particles, protecting downstream equipment and ensuring smoother operations.

Primary Treatment:
In this stage, chemicals like coagulants and flocculants are added to aid sedimentation in the clarifier tank. Wastewater flows at a slow speed to allow heavy solids (sludge) to settle at the bottom while lighter particles float on the surface. Secondary Treatment:
Here, the Activated Sludge Process (ASP) is used to degrade organic matter. Wastewater is aerated in tanks to encourage growth of microorganisms that break down organic contaminants. The treated water then flows into secondary clarifiers where heavier solids (secondary sludge) settle out. This stage can remove up to 80% of organic impurities.

Tertiary Treatment:
The final stage focuses on polishing the effluent to ensure removal of remaining impurities and pathogens.
